Good straight shooting seller, his price on these seems a little nutso.

Must be the rarity factor. He delivered a pair of good 828 cab to me in San Jose in 2003 for $220.

this seller is a great guy..good prices and all the stuff us altec guys like if we need them, his packaging is great, his inventory is great..cant say enough. a great resource for those of us in the need. he's got a tuff job, i cant imagine parting with some of the stuff he gets, i wouls have to keep it all....lol

I have to agree with GM.

If someone wants to pay a silly price that's up to them. but these are inferior to Altec boxes.
I wouldn't offer ten percent of his asking price.

There is another guy with double 15" versions who has also been trying to get a lot for a long time.

If you guys feel they are worth that, fine. but I bet the majority of the audio world disagrees.

Agreed, having done business with this seller on more than one occasion and having nothing but good experience with him, i was a little shocked to see such a high opening bid.

My immediate feeling was that 1500 goes a long way toward construction of multiple boxes of nearly any configuration.

Maybe seeing the asking price on similar boxes recently played a role.

At any rate, don't let his price on those boxes steer you. As others have mentioned, he's a good seller and many times has some serious deals on theater/sound reinforcement gear.

If someone is buying these Simplex. It would be a good Idea to find a student in drafting to make plans.Then we could ad these plans to the Altec collection.

BTW does anybody know, it looks a lot like they are using the same cab for single and dual use. or at least a lot of common panels.

I do know where there is a set of duals- it's a state away but I get there occasionally.

Draftsman I am not, but could probably whip up a set of working drawings.
